KVASS/96 is a fermented rye drink that reimagines a familiar Eastern European staple through a contemporary lens. Brewed in the United Kingdom, it’s shelf stable and rich in probiotics, with an earthy, gently fizzy profile that feels both nostalgic and quietly modern.
My name is Vilte Fuller. I’m a Lithuanian-born artist based in London. I began this project in 2020 as a way of exploring the feeling of being between places and identities. What started as a series of thoughts and memories gradually evolved into supper clubs and now into this drink. A version of kvass that reflects my background, humour and sensibility.
With a background in fine art, my work often centres on post-Soviet identity, domesticity and the quiet rituals of daily life. Every aspect of KVASS/96 from the recipe to the label has been carefully considered as part of a wider story.
